Other Tourist Destinations Quancheng Square, Bao Tu spring, Daming Lake, and thousand buddha mountain are just a few places in Jinan to see. Most of these are close together, either a walk or a short taxi away from the main hotels in Jinan.
Daming Lake, Aston English Located in the northern part of the Old City district, Lake Daming is a natural lake where many springs converge. Springs empty themselves into the lake from the south and, if water overflows, the lake depletes its surplus water through the north water gate, built in the North Song Dynasty, on the northern bank.
Baotu Spring & Park Baotu Spring, or Jet Spring, the symbol of Jinan, is
known not only as the first of the 72 springs in Jinan but as the "First Spring
under Heaven". With its earliest account in "Spring and Autumn Annals", it has a
long history of more than 2,600 years.
Quencheng Square QuanCheng Square (QuanCheng Guang Chong) is where the city "hangs out." Built only a few years ago, the square features a half-circle of statues representing great people in Shandong, including Zhu Ge Liang, Mencius and Confucius.
Qi Chang Cheng (the Qi Great Wall), laowai4life & bendan This wall is so old and cool that it makes the Great Wall in Beijing look like a new and cheap. If you think you were tough for walking on the Great Wall in Beijing, try clambering over stones that are not cemented together - where both the stone you're holding on to for support AND the one you're standing on wiggle precariously.
Si Men Ta (Four Gate Pagota & Creepy Kids Land, bendan & laowai4life Four Gate Pagoda is located south of Jinan, out in the ?suburbs?. You can get there via the No. 67 bus. The bus is 3 Yuan ? remember that before you start an argument with the driver. The 67 runs along YingXiongShanLu into the west side of town. Check the map at any bus stop to find the closest place for to you to catch it.
