| Post subject: Thanksgiving! |
Thanksgiving in Jinan may be difficult, but I think with some hard work we can pull off a moderately festive dinner. I think that we can agree that a traditional American turkey dinner is out of the question (with no turkey and no oven, what can one do?) but I think that the number of chickens and microwaves (and toaster ovens) may be able to accomplish a lot.
If you are interested in coming to a Thanksgiving feast, please let me know as soon as possible because we have just 2 weeks to prepare. I hope that we can have a great potluck event. Even if you don't cook, maybe you could bring a couple of folding chairs, a bottle of something or a good joke.
Regards,
Simone |

Yes, Angela things are happening.
However, You've actually got to have a conversation with Simone.
So as (1) we know you're an American or (2) intimate with thanksgiving, and (3) a normal friendly expat .
It's a day for friends and family. I get the vibe that you and Alan are Chinese. It would'nt really be fair to gatecrash her thanksgiving dinner just to practice your English.
Apologies if I'm wrong and you've just been to busy to call her. She's waiting for your phone call... if your not Chinese and a stranger.

Sorry, I didn't check my inbox. I am, in fact, American. You know what they say about assuming. |

If I knew where to find real rum in this town, I'd be drinking it right now! |

Hello All! It's last call time. The chickens are ready to roast (close your eyes and pretend it's turkey), there are mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, macaroni and cheese, candied yams, and fabulous desserts. If you don't come, it's your loss- but don't let it be said that you weren't invited!
PM me! 5 pm tomorrow is my deadline! |
