Post subject: ShanghaiExpat Celebrated In Grand Style With Nine Ball
On the night of December 12, 2009, when the clock struck 10 for another carnival, the nightlife for the expat community just began. ShanghaiExpat took over JC billiards and Club, one of the luxury billiards clubs in Shanghai, invested by the top professional pool player, Jennifer Chen, for the 9th ShanghaiExpat Anniversary Party with hot music and buzz games. The rainy day didn’t dampen the festive atmosphere but even more boosted the passion. Around 300 guests participated in the party, including media friends, ShanghaiExpat friends, clients, partners and professional players.
ShanghaiExpat’s extravagant parties are always highly regarded among expats and locals in town, and this time had no exception. The night was centered around the number “NINE”, which was a great number for its long history and its esteemed members in the expat community, in that it took on a new theme: Nine Ball, which proved to be more spectacular than last year’s Mahjong Hurricane. Even if there were thousands of nightlife parties all around in town approaching Christmas and New Year, it was not an easy job to spot one party as unique as this one, which featured exclusive 9-ball games, casino craze and live DJ music. The party was held to show appreciation for the great support from the expat community in Shanghai for 9 years as well as to celebrate the website relaunch featuring interactive functions and all-embracing information resources.
Stepping down to the basement, overwhelmed by the music beat and the scream for the games, the crowds found themselves in lost happy night. As the biggest hit of the night, the pool area should have set more than 6 pool tables for the pool addicts. But still, all the people were given a chance to try their hand at that, whether they were amateur or professional, or even completely clueless. Jennifer brought excitement to the party with a live performance of her top pool skills as well as the fierce competition from the top pool player, which made a big stir from the audience.
The casino area featuring Roulette and Black Jack was crowded with the people, wagering on games. The party-goers had more chance to throw their money around and to try their luck. The top prizes ranged from the travel package to San Francisco, to the luxury hotel package, worth RMB 5,000-10,000. And everyone walked away with the fully-packed goodie bags to show for their fun that night.
A famous mix DJ spun the bombing music through this explosive, 5-hour plus celebration till late with a lineup of Hiphop, House, Trance and non-stop. Foods and drinks flew all around, Vodka, fruits, wines, finger foods and sweetie cakes as well. One hand for eats, the other hand for chips or a rod. The glitzy party with XXX music and non-stop highlights made all there forget the time as the dawn came.
Attendees commented positively on the experience, looking forward to the next event. Not about to let anyone down, ShanghaiExpat will continue to provide valuable information and a much-needed sense of community for people living and working in Shanghai.
The whole party ended for the moment; but the fun for expat community in Shanghai not yet, which will be shared all around town for long.
